Apologies if this looks odd, I processed it with my new monitor. It's awesome. I hadn't though of widescreen, until somebody told me it's brilliant for photoshop work. I'm not convinced I've calibrated it right, because it seems to have a tonal range that I thought impossible.

My photosream: now with 0.5% less crap. I've been going through old stuff, deleting the crap that should never have been uploaded (when I joined flickr a year and a half ago I dumped nearly everything I'd ever taken into the uploadr, which wasn't really the best thing to do), and re-processing some of the stuff I took before working out how to use photoshop properly, or which I was too lazy to process at the time.
When I first uploaded this shot, it was pretty bland because of the haze, and had a wonky horizon; it also got lost in the flood of images, as I was less picky about what showed up in my stream. I thought it deserved a fresh airing, rather than just a file replacement.

Might have gone a little OTT on the processing there.
Update: since you asked. Low contrast and zero shadows when opening the raw. Then a graduated layer mask to make the top darker and bottom lighter. I might have magic wanded the sky and dropped the exposure in curves, I don't remember. Then flattened. Then shadows/highlights with a tiny bit on shadows and a tiny bit more on highlights (probably 2,10*), but a lot of midtone contrast added. Then, in curves, top third of the blues increased, bottom third of the reds reduced, to correct white balance. I might have lassoed the sky with 200px feather to increase the blues, but I can't remember.
* I try to avoid using s/h, but opened them for the contrast tool, and ended up playing with the other sliders too.
