Standing out standing still between the tides of people and flows of clouds on the wobbly bridge. I got an absurdly cheap NDx8 filter on ebay. I mean, £5, international postage inclusive. I assumed that it would be crap but that at that price, it might be worth it for a few deliberately crap "arty" pictures. Had a play with it on the bridge on the way home...

guys, a quick note on how flickr works: posting your photo to a group is considered an invitation for people to view and comment on your photo. traditional topics for such comments include what about a photo the commenter likes, and any suggestions for ways it might be done differently. different crops, compositions, angles, lighting, processing. flickr users are enthusiastic about photography and love to share ideas about each other's photography in this way. generally, if somebody leaves simple friendly helpful suggestions alongside saying nice things about the stuff you made, that is considered in advanced civilisations to be a good thing. it is not to be mistaken for an insult. replying to such a comment with a series of increasingly frantic private messages rambling about your long trip down to the shops, and blocking the commenter from making their reply similarly in private, looks just the slightest bit crazy.
99.9% of flickr users get this. and get this without effort. some of the more venerable lads and lasses of the english counties groups may still need to put some work in on this one.

on tuesday we went to "Winter Wonderland Hyde Park" (no relation to Lapland New Forest"), drank mulled wine, and took a ride on their really big ferris wheel.
