A brief moment when the sun shone, with an East Coast train just perceptible passing on the viaduct on the right. The river in Newcastle/Gateshead is very nice -- all those viaducts and moving bridges make it look like an over-enthusiastic train set. And there are lots of new public spaces, public transport routes, cycle routes, etc, along the river. Not so impressed with the city centres, which have been rather destroyed by an urban motorway which runs across the Tyne Bridge.

On Monday evening. It had been a day of alternating sunshine and rain and I had a lazy day riding over the hill to Glenelg (a ride recommended by Harold Briercliffe and subsequently by Clare Balding on the telly recently).
Just before I got back down the hill to Ratagan it really started pouring and the Five Sisters of Kintail disappeared behind a curtain of grey and the perfect double rainbow. As the rain cleared, the Five Sisters returned to view, just as the rainbows faded.

On West India Dock. They're far too strict on H&S down there -- these cranes are behind an eight foot fence. It's not like Bristol, where a few simple "it's your fault if you fall in the harbour or trip over the railway" signs are sufficient. Apparently the workers of Canary Wharf don't know how to walk.

It had been crap weather all day, so I wasn't expecting this. Quickly cycled up the hill for some shots accross the vale, and then over to the church yard for this. I hate it when there's a great sky and nothing to put in the foreground :(
